The Dave is a rarity in a world of guitarists, one of the few players who can be recognised from just a few notes or even a few chords. With over 25 years as a professional musician, Dave has developed into a very much in demand guitarist, writer and arranger. During his time as guitarist and primary writer in English based Mr. So & So, he has recorded five studio albums and toured extensively throughout Europe.
2011 saw the release of Dave’s debut solo album ‘Gravity’ which led to an invitation to join The Wishing Tree, the first side project from Marillion guitarist Steven Rothery, as a touring musician. Following the Wishing Tree tour Dave was asked to take part in a series of Masterclasses for the British Guitar Academy with a line up that included Steve Rothery (Marillion), Rob Harris (Jamiroquai), Matt Prior (Bonnie Tyler), Dave Gregory (XTC) and Aziz Ibrahim (Stone Roses, Simply Red).
In 2013 Dave and Steven Rothery began writing what would be become Steven’s first solo album ‘The Ghosts of Pripyat’. This crowd funded project is one of the most successful Kickstarter campaigns, achieving its target in less than 24 hours. ‘The Ghosts of Pripyat’ is scheduled for release at the end of September 2014 and a world tour is to follow. Dave currently endorses Knaggs guitars and DV Mark amplification.
